Dancing Couple at Community Program

Community Programs

We are committed to giving back to our communities with our greatest asset - knowledge. Our non-credit community programs cover everything from hobbies to life skills. You don't need to be a student at the college already; these classes are open to anyone with a passion for learning.

A Healthy Education

Juana Schliemann
We have very diverse interests and curiosities, and we have enjoyed and learned from every class we have attended — from health-related nutrition, diabetes information, and other mental and physical health workshops.”
Juana Schliemann
Community Education Center Student

It only took one class for Juana Schliemann and her husband Bill to get hooked on San Jac’s community programs. The couple has found free classes that fit each of their interests. Enrolling in the program together allows the couple to spend quality time together while learning and staying active. Which, they say, helps keep them physically and mentally healthy.

Choose Your Program

These four-week ESL courses take you from beginner to advanced. With a focus on conversation, learn how to speak, pronunciate, read and write. Already know a little English? Don’t worry - every student is enrolled in the level that is right for them.
Price Varies
There’s no age limit to learning. The Lifelong Learning program offers a range of low-cost courses to teach you a new hobby or jumpstart your career path. Get testing skills for your GED, take a dance class, or learn financial management tools.

Youth Summer Camps

A San Jacinto College summer camp is the perfect way for kids to spend a summer. Camps range from music and arts to sports and career exploration. Our EnergyVenture camp is for 12-14 year-olds who are interested in the energy industry. Kidspot Theatre Camp is for youths from 5-18 who want to experience the range of activities possible at a theater. Check out the wide range of camps available!

There are many ways to enroll:

  • By phone
  • By email
  • By fax
  • In person
  • Online

Please visit the CPD Registration page for more information on each method of registering.

While we have resources for all ages, unless the course says otherwise, you must be at least 18 to enroll. For those courses, you will also need to fill out a Parent Waiver Form. Please contact the Registration Office with questions about a specific program.

Some programs have rolling enrollment and others are only offered once a semester. When you see that a course is closed, click the “Request Information” button and fill out the course inquiry form. This will ensure you are notified when the class opens up again for enrollment.
